Educational master class from the specialists of the Military Medical Academy after S.M. Kirov (St. Petersburg) under the SMART program will be held at the Center for Pre-Clinical Research (https://prc-penza.ru) on May 30, 2019
The Forum is planned to conduct a mini-course of the development of basic skills and algorithms in the provision of surgical care for injuries.
SMART is a unique educational and practical course developed at the Military Medical Academy for training of surgeons in the implementation of critical surgical interventions within the tactics of Damage Control.
World statistics shows that about 3 thousand people are killed in road accidents every day and about 100 thousand are injured of varying degrees of severity. The existing problems in helping people who suffered at the scene of the accident, their evacuation and in medical institutions do not contribute to reducing the number of people who died and were disabled due to injury. Combined injury often poses an unsolvable task to the surgeon who chooses the tactics of treatment.
How to act rationally in such situations is one of the objectives of the course SMART. Another task is to get a real practical skill in simulated conditions.
The course program is fully consistent with the problems and tasks identified in the Government Decree No. 294 of April 15, 2014 oа the approval of the State Program "Health Development". The purpose of the subprogram "Staffing of the healthcare system" is to provide the health care system with highly qualified specialists through the improvement of the system of practical training of medical workers. One of the targets of the program is the number of specialists trained in simulation centers. The Ministry of health of the Russian Federation introduced the concept of "simulation training" and the duty of educational institutions involved in the training of specialists in the field of health, includes both training and assessment of skills (abilities) in simulated conditions, which can be seen in the order and timing of accreditation by medical specialists.
The educational course, which will be attended by surgeons of the Penza region under the guidance of colleagues from St. Petersburg, will help regional specialists to obtain the necessary practical skills, and, consequently, this course will be the key to saving the lives of victims.
